Death & Stuff…

Death Is Warm & Fuzzy

A lot of people are surprised when they die to find out it’s sweet and loving, it’s like a Teddy Bear wrapped up in swaddling and dusted with Ohhh-wows.

The first impulse is to run back and tell everyone, but Love has no legs, doesn’t need’m cuz it’s All That Is. Try rising from the coffin to tell everyone that Death is sweet and beautiful and generous and kind and comfy and… Someone’d swat you down into the satin and raise a finger to their lips.

Besides, being All That Is suddenly, and trying to spread the news, is low on your list of Must-Do’s because… Well, figure it out. You’re now free of everything anchoring you, including spreading the news of finding Real Life. Word’d get around and everyone’d be knocking on Death’s door begging to come in: Oh, Hi, See I had this friend who just died?, and he asked me to come join him and…

  1. “This body is not me; I am not caught in this body, I am life without boundaries, I have never been born and I have never died. Over there the wide ocean and the sky with many galaxies All manifests from the basis of consciousness. Since beginningless time I have always been free. Birth and death are only a door through which we go in and out. Birth and death are only a game of hide-and-seek. So smile to me and take my hand and wave good-bye. Tomorrow we shall meet again or even before. We shall always be meeting again at the true source, Always meeting again on the myriad paths of life.”

― Thich Nhat Hanh, No Death, No Fear
